To My friend that was always there by my side              and loved to go for rides. Till we meet again. I will          miss you.
              1992- March 2008.

Like a flower that is dying,
Like the river that is crying,
         The birds will keep singing,
         The wind will still blow,
And the shadows become my rain,
Yesterday is gone as I close my eyes,
          I can see heaven,
         Carry me on,
         Take me home.

Congratulations to all that have bought and                    adopted these wonderful horses

Their has been much going on here at the farm. On March 13 2009 I went to a killpen and found approximately 20 or so OTTB broodmares with their yellow neck collars around their necks. I picked three out of the Paraneck/ Paragallo mares and three others from the killpen, a total of six horses we loaded on the trailer to come home. I started to research the OTTB mares and found that they had come from a large breeding farm in Climax, NY. They were from Paraneck Stables.Owner Ernie Paragallo. I called The Exceller Fund in trying to get enough funds to rescue the remaining broodmares, Which range from the ages 4-20 years of age. The Exceller Fund gave me  some phone numbers to get in touch with. After talking with Diane,Lisa, and Christi from AC4H rescue in Pa. They were able to get four remaining mares from the killpen. Unfortunately the other 17 or so were  already shipped. The four mares AC4H has were the worst of the 20 or so mares and were left behind for another time. All the mares in the killpen were skinny, lice infected, skin lesions, and feet in much needed care. I remember a mahogany Bay mare with almost a pie bald face. I found out later her name was Red Hot Chili Pepper an Ireland bred mare that was born on my birthday march 18. She was 6 years old. She will be in my thoughts. Unfortunately she was shipped. I want to thank everyone that has made this rescue possible. To Natalie W. , Joanne P and Nikki F that helped put funds into rescuing the 6 horses that day. I want to thank The Exceller Fund with out you there would have never been this rescue with the four other Paragallo mares and to AC4H for the rescue of the 4 remaining paragallo mares, to Lisa and Dianne for many phone calls and all the news coverage and for saving the rest of the mares that were left on the Paraneck farm in Climax. NY. To all the papers that have covered this story . And to everyone that has donated to all of the rescues.
